They are a leading manufacturing company based in Mid-Glamorgan. Due to ongoing success with new products they are looking to appoint a production manager to drive the business forward.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of production management within a high volume quality driven manufacturing environment and have excellent management, leadership and team building skill.

Skills and experience required

• leadership ability
• Knowledge and use of lean and continuous improvement techniques
• Proven record of team building
• Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes and systems - ideally Automotive or Chemical
• 5 years + experience of working within a high volume manufacturing environment
• Financial and commercial acumen
• Strong IT Skills


Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Implement and communicate operational strategies and solutions in line with business plan
• Set and Manage performance targets, ensure staffing levels are met and professional management standards are adhered to.
• Ensure planned KPI’s are met or exceeded.
• Implement and drive continuous improvement activities and best practices, and ensure that principles are embraced by the team.
• Optimise resource utilisation by the implementation of an effective production organisation.
• Monitor and maintain specified product Quality standards and implement Quality-improvement initiatives. Ensure that all quality procedures are communicated to the team, and are enforced. Knowledge of TS 16949 would be advantageous
• Coordinate, set up and implement standard operating procedures for all production operations.
• Active involvement in program management of new product introduction and capital expenditures.
• Ensure compliance with Environmental legislation.
