My client near Bedford makes Custom and Bespoke Cable-forms, looms, harness & umbilical’s. Manufactures electronic and mechanical assemblies and systems, Constructs, builds, and wires Control Panels. Populates both Through-Hole and Surface Mount P.C.B.’s.

The successful applicant must have at least three years managerial experience in either an electronic or mechanical assembly environment.

Be able to understand wiring schedules, parts lists, cable/mechanical drawings, and written procedures.

Ideally, know how to strip, prepare, identify, terminate, and group cables & wires together, and have sound knowledge and experience of crimping and soldering processes and methods.

Have a good basic knowledge of electronics and be able to recognise, identify and read component types and values.

Have a good understanding of mechanical assembly, fasteners, materials tooling and equipment, and familiarisation of modern lean manufacturing techniques and practices.

Main Responsibilities:

Responsible for all day-to-day production activities in accordance with company policies.

Oversee all production planning and ensure efficient labour and asset utilisation to deliver on-time in-full against customer requirements.

Organise and be responsible for stock inventory management to ensure optimal product lines and stock levels are maintained.

Significant experience as a Production Manager / Supervisor within an assembly type environment.

In-depth knowledge and experience of ISO quality control systems

Be experienced and skilled in continuous improvements/lean manufacturing techniques.

Excellent organisational and people management skills

Demonstrable success in managing, training and developing high performing teams.

Understanding of Health and Safety requirements related to manufacturing environments.

Salary £34,000 to £36,000 per annum, depending upon skills and experience.

Hours 37.5 hours a week
