Purpose of Role: The post holder will be required to undertake a variety of activities involved in the complete process of managing the manufacturing of our timber-based product range.
To ensure the production facility is equipped to meet current and future production needs, create efficiencies and to provide appropriate support and development opportunities for direct reports.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
• The day to day management of production staff and associated people management activities.
• Communicate with relevant points of contact to maintain required staffing numbers
• Liaise daily with Supervisors to update colleagues on manufacturing plans
• Ensure production paperwork is optimised and communicated to your teams in an appropriate order
• Monitor stock rotation and replenishment
• Equip Team Leaders and Supervisors with the skills and tools required to undertake their roles, and for future development needs
• Ensuring your reportees comply with H&S and assist with the facilitating of training
• Refine Manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and adopt a lean approach to production
• Ensure machinery checks and maintenance is carried out, as well as arranging machinery training to maximise capacity of machines
• Create and deliver proposals for new equipment to put to The Director.
• Advise on new production methods and monitor KPI’s
• Create and maintain a culture of equality and fairness
• Effective workload management, including effective time utilisation, prioritisation and delegation
