Pre-Legal Controller - £25k + Bonus

The successful candidate will be working within a very busy Credit Control department based in South West London, which currently consists of a team of 40 plus.

• Sending initial Pre-Legal letter and requests to branch for Pre-Legal memos
• Liaising with branches to gather information on Pre-Legal clients.
• Escalation to the Supervisor of any accounts whereby the branch are not supplying relevant information.
• Escalation to the Supervisor of any accounts that do not meet our requirements for passing to Legal.
• Corresponding with Pre-legal clients by letter, phone and email in order to secure payment.
• Liaising with branches regarding any client queries raised in order to find resolution.
• Preparing the client file for legal action if no payment is received.
• Raising of necessary write off forms and manual credits when requested.
• Checking the brought forward report on a daily basis and informing the Cash Team of allocation details for both Pre Legal and Cash up Front accounts.
• To work the Pre-Legal target sheet as necessary as requested by the Supervisor
• Informing branches of Cash up Front accounts that are in debit balance, setting deadlines for resolution, and advising the Supervisor of any problematic accounts.
• Working with the branches in order to resolve any issues on the Cash up Front accounts.
• Ensuring any timesheet rejections from Payroll are managed in a timely manner.
• Maintaining agreed payment plans
• Liaising with insolvency practitioners and checking paperwork for clients that are in administration/Liquidation
• Assisting the Legal Department with any queries raised.
• Chasing of CORD (problematic) and CORE (deposit) ledgers and escalating any issues.
• Chasing of LEG3 (Rental) ledger and escalating any issues to the Property Department.
• Assisting with escalation of International Accounts (EMEA)
• Sending letters and assisting with incoming calls regarding Temp Overpayments and taking payment details where necessary.
• Other duties within Credit Control Department as required

Experience Required

• Credit Control experience needed
• Legal Admin experience would be a benefit but not necessary

The successful candidate will have the ability to work unsupervised and as part of the Pre-Legal team, be able to plan their work and work well under pressure meeting strict deadlines. You will need to possess a confident telephone manner combined with the ability to communicate at all levels within the company.
