 NHS Key Worker – Porter (Bank)
Due to the current demand and increased need for key workers in the NHS due to the coronavirus outbreak, we are currently recruiting Porters, to join Imperial College Healthcare Trust’s hardworking and dedicated team at Charing Cross Hospital, in London. These are casual positions and you will be employed directly by the Trust’s staff bank. Previous experience is ideal but not necessary as full training and support will be provided.

Pay Rate: £12.04 per hour (including holiday pay)
Location: Charing Cross Hospital
Hours of work: Varying shifts available, over 7 days in line with a rota system
The Role:
You will be employed directly by Imperial College Healthcare Trust, and will be responsible for undertaking general portering duties for all wards and departments, providing a professional and quality service to all users, whilst promoting the trusts core values.
Duties will include:
• Safe transportation of patients using wheelchairs, stretchers and beds
• Movement of equipment in a safe manner, according to manual handling policies
• Ensure communication with all transported patients is in a sensitive manner
• Undertake general mortuary duties, in accordance with trusts agreed policies
• Ensure safe collection and delivery of pharmacy products, medical equipment or other equipment around the hospital site
About you:
• Previous experience of working in a customer facing role
• Have the ability to retain information, and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
• Have the ability to prioritise and use initiative
• Will be dedicated to promoting the trusts core values – as shown below
