A great opportunity has arisen within a friendly and successful team for a Project or Programme Office Manager to be at the heart of transformation across a large public sector organisation.

This is a 12 month assignment, likely to be extended due to the nature of the work.

No days will be the same but you will:

-Be accountable for the on-going development and delivery of the Project Management Office, providing a professional programme and project management framework
-Carry out a quality assurance and peer challenge role on behalf of the Executive Group
-Develop and lead a centre of excellence for advice, expertise and skills

You will also be responsible for all aspects of the successful delivery of projects to defined time, cost and quality including project planning; resource planning; communications planning; stakeholder engagement, proactive risk analysis, management and resolution.

Responsibilities will also include:
-Establishment and management of appropriate project governance arrangements, including production and maintenance of key project documentation - business case, project mandate, highlight reports etc.

-Escalation of risks and issues affecting delivery as appropriate, making recommendations for resolution.

-Managing a project team in order to deliver the plan by undertaking specific tasks and/or engaging others as appropriate.

-Providing regular progress reports and updates to the Senior Responsible Owner, the Programme Management Office and the Programme Review Board suggesting and initiating improvements or remedial action where required.

-Ensuring projects are closed appropriately - that the success of project delivery is considered, evaluated and reported upon, that any process or quality lessons learnt through the life of the programme/project are recorded, analysed and effectively communicated.

We are looking for someone who will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, together with good influencing and communication skills, with an enthusiasm and ability to be proactive and make things happen!

We would love to hear from you if you have previous experience within a PMO role (either Programme Management Office or Project Management Office) and are interested in shaping the continued transformation of a key programme.
