Reed Education Cardiff are currently working with a Secondary School based in the heart of Bridgend. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and committed Teacher to join a thriving, vibrant school. This role is to start September 2020 to cover a 12 month maternity contract.


Due to department restructure there will be potential to be taken on permanently on successful completion of the contract.


The role…

You will teach Physics upto Key Stage 4 within the mainstream classes including tutoring small groups of GCSE pupils who need additional support to achieve their desired results, as well as highly gifted and talented individuals. There is also the opportunity to develop your skills across Key Stage 5 where cover may be required.

The school is a mixed 11 – 18 Comprehensive School located in the heart of Bridgend and holds an Estyn accredited rating of “Good”. The school strives for the highest educational standards and as a result the whole school drives to assist every pupil to achieve their full potential, discover new talents and develop a passion for learning. Public transport links to and from the school are excellent. The school is located within a manageable driving distance from most South Wales locations. Onsite parking is available based on a first come first serve basis for those who wish to drive.

To be considered for the role, you will be/will have:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS status);
  • A good honours degree or equivalent in a relevant or related subject discipline;
  • Experience of delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences up to KS4 (KS5 desirable);
  • Commitment to afterschool club and out-of-school hours learning provision;
  • Effective class management with pupils at all levels;
  • Tenacious attitude with a devotion to self-improvement.
