Southend on Sea Borough Council are seeking to appoint a Performance Analyst to work within the department of Children and Learning. The main purpose of the role will be to Promote, develop and deliver analytical and performance functions for the Department for People, including Public Health knowledge & intelligence through the development and delivery of:

• Public health knowledge and intelligence.
• Strong planning and performance links across the Council and with partner Agencies.
• Continuous improvement in the use of performance data and statistical analysis.
• Effective systems for making statutory returns.
• Effective systems for the efficient distribution of analytic reports and other data.
• Collection and dissemination of performance data across the Department.

Your duties & responsibilities:
• Daily liaison with Senior Officers responsible for operational and strategic performance monitoring.
• Updating information for regular performance reporting.
• Providing support for Performance Analyst Officers for other service areas including Adults and Housing.
• Ensuring data is reliable, robust and consistent.
• Assist with development and implementation of performance targets.
• Collate, analyse and report data for statutory returns.
• Create and develop effective analysis of data using Microsoft Access and Excel.
• Assist with the development of a library of reports to enable clients to monitor their performance.
• Attend and engage in the work of corporate projects.
• Liaise with partner agencies and schools regarding performance monitoring.
• Work with partners, stakeholders on data management.
• Provide performance data required by senior officers.
• Support and provide assistance to other colleagues in the Performance team and across the department.
• Represent the Council at local, regional and national events.
• Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as and when required .

• Knowledge of manipulation of data.
• Advanced IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Access, Excel and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

• Experience working in a healthcare related service.
• Data reporting.
• Advanced use of databases and spreadsheet applications.
