My client, a highly respected pensions specialist in Southend, is looking to recruit a competent permanent Pensions Administrator to help support the team. This is an integral role to the business and as such requires prior pensions experience. 


 If selected, you will be responsible for:

Automated and manual calculation of 'cradle to grave' benetits for members of defined benefit and defined contribution schemes
Checking and approval of cases calculated by other members of the Pensions Administration department
Dealing with telephone queries raised by different categories of scheme members, clients, financial advisers and other interested parties
Update and maintain Profund database and other internal databases
Checking pension payrolls each month
Annual checking of Benefit Statements for all schemes
Delivery of specific/ad hoc projects as directed by the Team Leader/Head of Pensions

Responsibilities

Case ownership
Deliver effective administration, identifying more effective working practices
Ensure benefits and contributions are paid in line with legislation
Follow through the implementation of best practice suggestions agreed with the Team Leader/Head of Pensions
Support the development of the Pensions Administration department
Develop technical knowledge
Identification of personal training requirements to allow for the fulfilment of the requirements of the role

Skills

A working knowledge of both defined benefit and defined contribution schemes
Self-starter with ability to follow processes and procedures
Analytical approach
Good communication and personal skills
Competent to deal with senior members of the organisation
