My client, a large multi-million turnover organisation based near the Patchway area are looking for anew payroll specialist to join their team.

This role arises as a result of company growth and will see the successful applicant working for a prestigious and established organisation.

Reporting into the Payroll Manager, whilst working alongside one other payroll professional, you will collaboratively deliver 7 employee payrolls to approximately 3000 monthly paid employees.

 To maintain all necessary computerised payroll records and to process all changes
including starters, secondments, transfers, leavers and other amendments to payroll and
employee data in compliance with policy and payroll requirements.
 To process and input permanent and temporary payment data into relevant systems in
accordance with statutory and contractual obligations and to pre-defined timescales.
 To generate payments to employees, e.g. from interface files and other authorised
 To check, maintain and process permanent and temporary deductions where necessary.
 Follow post payroll processes ensuring that payroll sign off is completed in accordance
with audit requirements.
 Ensure that all permanent reports and statutory returns are produced and distributed in
line with the Payroll Checklists and Timetables.
 To deal with payroll queries concerning payments made to employees, including liaising
with relevant internal and external contacts.
 To complete necessary documentation arising from payroll information requests in
compliance with relevant data protection legislation and policy.
 To compile and analyse ad hoc reports for internal and external customers as required.
 To report relevant costing data for processing into appropriate financial systems.
 Where appropriate investigate and resolve customer queries, comments, suggestions,
compliments and complaints.
 To assist with process improvement including system enhancement and testing.
 To exercise absolute integrity in respect of confidential matters, and to ensure that any
specified procedures for ensuring the security and confidentiality of information are always

The succesful applicant would meet the following criteria: 

 Detailed knowledge of statutory regulations relating to pay
 Excellent communication and PC skills
 High level of discretion and diplomacy
 Ability to organise own workload
 Excellent attention to detail
 Self motivation
 Previous experience working within a payroll function delivering a service to 1000+ users would be desirable
 Experience of ResourceLink payroll software would be desirable bit not essential
