Payroll and Benefits Manager - Cambridge - £30,000-£35,000 per annum

A leading Cambridge based software company currently have an opening for an experienced and confident Payroll and Benefits Manager to join their growing Finance team in a sole position, taking responsibility for the preparation of the Group’s payrolls, social security and benefits declarations and payments and employee expenses re-imbursements.

The role will also be expected to play a key role in supporting the Group Financial Controller and Head of HR in the provision of advice on all payroll and benefits related matters and the development of internal controls and management of payroll systems.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role will include the following:

-Preparation of payrolls, via outsourced Agencies, for the Groups, UK, US, APAC, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, and China subsidiaries.

-Maintenance, reconciliation, payment and declaration to local statutory bodies of all social security and other benefits (P11d, PSA, Pension, PMI, 401k).

-Preparation of payroll journals.

-Reconciliation of all payroll costs to the General Ledger.

-Manage and maintain the Group’s expense re-imbursement system, including timely payment of employees.

-Manage, maintain and reconcile the Group’s Credit Card expenditure.

-Remain current on new legislation and advise on actions required to retain compliances.

-Ensuring processing errors are minimised by continued development of internal controls and management of payroll systems.

-Act as Key contact for HR and employees alike, on any/ all payroll issues.

This is a challenging sole position and therefore requires candidates to possess the following skills and attributes:

-Significant UK payroll experience, ideally with overseas payroll experience (not essential).

-Capability to calculate manual payments without the use of software.

-Experience of payroll reconciliation and general ledger requirements.

-Confidence and ability to process payrolls with minimal supervision to tight deadlines.

-Strong attention to detail.

-Strong but approachable interpersonal skills and communication.

- Ideally, experience working with outsourced payroll providers.
