We are partnering with a St. Albans (Hertfordshire) based accountancy practice who are looking to recruit a Payroll Administrator

- Manage payroll processes for a portfolio of clientsapprox. 40 to 60 clients (depending upon the size, complexity and nature of such clients) on behalf of various partners
- Process payroll from start to finish ensuring accuracy throughout the payroll cycle, for example in processing P45’s, starter declarations, pro rata calculations etc
- Process statutory payments and deductions as well as considering and updating information to incorporate
company enhanced schemes
- Use payroll planning software/tools to monitor deadlines and milestones for multiple client payrolls
- Liaise with clients regarding payroll information, handling queries by phone and email, ensuring that payroll advice delivered is technically sound and relevant to client needs, with input and/or support from the Payroll Manager as required
- Prepare BACS submissions for salary and other third party payments
- Submit necessary RTI returns (FPS/EPS) as required
- Deal with queries from third parties such as HMRC, DWP, banks, pension providers etc
- Be aware of and work within client budgets, liaising with clients and/or the Payroll Manager in relation to any additional charges/fees
- Prepare client bills on a monthly basis, as appropriate
- Undertake the set-up of new clients on internal software and the set-up of payroll schemes for clients
- Assist clients with auto-enrolment information and set up
- Process auto-enrolment and generate and send letter and pension feeds
- File all necessary records and documentation in accordance with statutory requirements and departmental
- Provide payroll information to internal departments to support accounting and audit work

- Previous experienc in bureau or accountancy practice would be a strong advantage
- working knowledge of Star Payroll desirable
