An international client of ours is looking for a Payroll Assistant or Payroll Administrator to join their payroll function to assist on the UK Payroll. 

The position has the overall responsibility for timely and accurate processing of assigned employee payroll checks including collection, review, input, edit, output, and verification of payroll data. 

Main Responsibilities for the Payroll Administrator

• Process outside department timekeeping data by the required deadline
• Consistently apply company policy and government regulations to all processing
• Review audit reports for processing errors and request corrections as necessary
• Research employee questions and provide resolution, as dictated by company policy
• Review contracts and apply special processing requirements to specialized workforce groups, such as unions
• Explain and interpret complex payroll information to employees at all levels of the organization
• Assist in specialized processing, requiring more detailed knowledge of payroll procedures
• Communicate all discrepancies to payroll supervisor or department timekeeper as necessary
• Perform other duties as required



Candidates must have the following 

• University degree focus in accounting, finance or related business field or equivalent experience/training
• Payroll experience in the UK as a Payroll assistant or Payroll Administrator  ( overseas or Spanish Payroll an advantage) 
• Ability to effectively communicate in English both verbally and written
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, 
• Familiarity with accounting principles relating to funds disbursements, payroll tax statutory requirements and payment regulations
• Familiarity with garnishment processing
• Above average customer service, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• Ability to work as a team player in a high stress environment
• Flexible/adaptable to constant change
• Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments/projects
• Ability to deal with confidential subject matter
• Ability to work flexible hours when require

Preferred Qualifications
• Accounting certification such as ACCA, AAT or CIMA studier 
• Additional European language an advantage  ( Spanish )
