The role is key in the collating, reviewing and monitoring of service planning process across the Department, with the aim of capturing and measuring the department’s progress of delivering key priorities for the council and outcomes for the people of Southend.
This includes supporting delivery of the departments’ key strategic partnerships such as the Major Projects Board and Success for all Children’s Group, which includes key partner agencies from across Southend. There is also a significant focus on utilising covalent performance systems to ensure Corporate Priority Actions, Service Plans, Joint Commissioning Plans and Team Plans are updated and reported on a regular basis. Furthermore there is involvement in ensuring development of Local Account for Adult social care by collating information from a variety of sources and ensuring all relevant information is reported accurately and effectively.
Communication and co-ordination skills are key to this role as it involves collating and chasing information from different sources and in a suitable format for a variety of different audiences. You will be in a key position to support the process of the service planning helped by reporting tools such as covalent system.
Due to the significance of reports in this job, the team is seeking someone who holds strong attention to detail through demonstrable proof reading skills. As the focus is on performance and improvement you must be able to think strategically and analytically. To be successful in the role you will need to be organised to ensure you can follow logistical processes that are required for this service area, as you will need to be confident in communication at different levels with internal and external stakeholders. The successful applicant will also need to be confident in their use of word and excel. Ideally the team are seeking someone with local authority experience though essentially being familiar with performance management systems is key.
This is a great opportunity within a demanding team whilst being a key point of contact to ensure the service plans are following process alongside being up to date and maintained to ensure senior management are receiving the correct performance information.
