I am looking for an IT Support Agent to work in a School in Halstead on a permanent part time basis of 24 hours over three days per week.
The IT Support’s overall responsibility is to monitor and maintain the computer systems and networks within the school. The IT Support’s works closely with a range of school staff.
The post holder will be working 3 days a week/52 weeks per year, there may be a requirement for on call availability outside of these hours.


Main duties/Responsibilities:
• Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications
• Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
• Talking staff or pupils through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues
• Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
• Replacing parts as required
• Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports
• Supporting the roll-out of new applications
• Setting up new users' accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues
• Logging support requirements with resolutions
• Rapidly establishing a good working relationship with internal stakeholders and external contractors
• Testing and evaluating new technology
• Conducting electrical safety checks on computer equipment


Personal Attributes & Skills required:
• Minimum two years relevant experience
• Managing Windows Domain
• Windows Server administration
• VMWare ESXi
• Microsoft Office
• Linux VLE
• The ability to think logically
• Excellent listening and questioning skills, combined with the ability to interact confidently with clients to establish what the problem is and explain the solution
• The ability to work well in a team
• Problem solving skills
• A strong customer focus
• The ability to prioritise your workload
• Attention to detail
