The business was established in 1994 and has a strong reputation across its core sector, and an excellent track record with projects worth over £500 million nationally. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Part-Qualified Management Accountant/Financial Accountant to come on board in a newly created role that will eventually take over from the current Finance director when he retires in a few years time. 

The role of the FD extends beyond the conventional finance role, and the appointee is expected to take a central role as a driver of operational change and organisational improvement across the business. An interest in practical applications of IT systems is essential.

• Working with senior personnel across the business to ensure all financial information and analysis is communicated in a timely and meaningful manner that adds genuine value to the business.
• Cash flow management
• Preparation of bi-monthly management accounts alongside the managing director and managing surveyor.
• Dealing with any day-to-day IT systems reporting issues, helping to drive improvements and compliance across the business
• Working alongside the Commercial team on commercial matters, including tenders 
• Partnering with the Commercial team and MD on legal and contractual issues
• Developing and maintaining professional relations with the company’s financial stakeholders, including surety and credit insurance underwriters, auditors and bankers.

• Experience of leading /managing a small Finance team
• Ability to work effectively to tight programmes
• Enthusiasm for taking the lead with implementation of change and development of systems
