We are looking for an experienced PA to work for a well established higher education establishment based in Salford. This is an immediatel start, full time role on an ongoing temporary contract. Please not you must have significant PA experience to be considered for this role.

Duties will include

Reporting to the Executive Support Manager, the PA will provide high level, confidential and comprehensive secretarial and personal support. To deliver the challenges of this role the PA will be expected to demonstrate high levels of initiative, outstanding time management and organizational skills and be creative, energetic, open and collaborative. The post requires familiarity and comfort with a range of contemporary office systems including Word, Powerpoint, spreadsheets and databases.

The post supports a busy office and will be expected to work closely with other team members, particularly those also in the pooled resource teams. The post holder will have excellent time management skills and be able to work with the Executive Support Manager to agree priorities in this busy and ambitious environment.

Responsibilities

 Manage accurately the complex diary of the Executive Members to ensure the smooth operation of the office and the Executive Members time;
 Prioritise the demands and requests made of the Executive Members in order to ensure appropriate attention is given to urgent issues, escalating timelines as required and in order to schedule diary commitments, working closely with the Executive Support Manager to understand the prioritisation of business needs.
 Work on own initiative to meet competing demands and to resolve problems;
 Provide a high quality, front line professional service for visitors to the Vice-Chancellor’s Office and liaise with internal and external colleagues as required;
 Deal with incoming correspondence with discretion and courtesy and produce confidential letters, reports and electronic presentations on behalf of the Executive Members;
 Liaise effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of internal and external colleagues, e.g. senior management, administrative staff and representatives from professional bodies, regional and city partners, and others as required;
 Take the lead on a number of tasks and projects that will require effective collaborative working with a wide range of staff throughout the University;
 Participate in internal and external working groups and projects as required;
