Of critical importance, is to balance the key service requirements of the clients against the need to carefully manage our costs. Due to the nature of the work the department undertakes, it is crucial that the successful candidate is confident and flexible enough to be able to cover other roles in the department, full training will be provided.
An ability to work under pressure in such situations is important too. The work will consist of routine planning and reporting allied to a 'reactive' work requirement that is driven by operational pressures. In such situations the immediate operational problem has to take precedence.
This is a good opportunity for someone who would like a varied role working as part of a small enthusiastic team. Although not essential some experience of working in logistics or in a planning related role is advantageous although full training will be provided.
Of more importance is the right attitude (Aptitude) and the ability to learn quickly. Preference will be given to candidates that can demonstrate they have strong mathematical and analytical skills. e.g - evidenced by Good GCSE passes in Maths, science etc or equivalent. Min educational level is to A level standard or equivalent with decent passes although we would also welcome applications from candidates at degree level.

• Administration & Co-ordination of records
• Production of monthly reports for clients and internal senior managers
• Assistance with ad-hoc studies and presentations working with senior managers
SCOPE OF ROLE
• Logistical planning of Rail and Road movements.
• Operational problem solving
• Dealing with customer enquiries to ensure high customer service levels and satisfaction.
• Co-ordinator of information to all relevant persons
• Production of appropriate reports for client and contract performance
• Raising sales invoices
• Processing key supplier invoices
• Additional admin and clerical tasks as required within the operations and commercial department.
• Provide cover for departmental head during holidays
