An excellent opportunity at this Derbyshire business has arisen for an Operational Excellence Manager. Predominantly sitting over Quality and Continuous Improvement teams, your role will be a major influence in driving this business forward. The company is well established, supplying bespoke products into some very well-known manufacturing businesses.

The duties of the Operational Excellence Manager will involve:

-Responsibility for the Quality and Continuous Improvement teams
-Ensuring that the mind set behind both Quality and CI is present throughout all employees in the business
-Engaging with employees at all levels to ensure that this buy-in exists
-Creating quantifiable results from improvement to Quality KPI’s ensuring that good measures are in place to record it and identify where further improvements need to sit
-Monitoring and improving results of customer satisfaction surveys
-Reduction of waste, relating to scrap, time saving etc.
-Improvements in productivity, working with engineering and production teams to find better solutions to bottlenecks
-Use of Quality and Continuous Improvement tools,
-A good understanding of health and safety, ensuring that the safety of employees is the businesses number one priority
-Managing teams ensuring that employees receive good support and guidance to assist them in their roles as well as to develop careers

The successful candidate will have:

-A strong background covering both Quality Management and Continuous Improvement
-Experience working in a busy manufacturing environment
-Knowledge of Continuous Improvement tools. A 6 sigma qualification would be ideal
-Knowledge of Quality tools and processes such as route cause analysis
-An associated degree or equivalent within engineering would be ideal
-The ability to work well with cross functional teams and understand how the departments need to interact to achieve common goals
-Great communication style with the ability to influence people at all levels
