To ensure that an effective and efficient administrative, secretarial and reception service is provided to meet the needs of school 

Full time 36 hours per week 9 - 5 and will be required to wokr during key dates in August

Responsible to the Senior Deputy Head (Resources & Community)

To line manage the office staff and the team of Administrative Assistants.
To be involved in the recruitment, induction, performance management, training and
development of the above staff.
To supervise the administrative, secretarial and clerical workload of the school office (including that of the Attendance Registrar) ensuring that work is completed to a high standard and within specified deadlines.
To co-ordinate cover, in house or external for support staff in the school office, Medical, Libraryand Resources.
To co-ordinate cover for the summer holiday period allowing major tasks to be completed.
To provide/co-ordinate admin support to members of SMT including information for the staffing lists and tutor group lists.
To work with Deputy Head (Resources and Community) to maintain the School Calendar.
To work with Deputy Head (Curriculum) to maintain the Learning Walks / Hotspots information,
Analysis of Pupil Performance files for SMT, Gained Time pro-formas, minutes of meetings and
book monitoring sheets and production of the staff directory
To liaise with Deputy Head (Resources and Community) ensuring effective running of the school
office and effective deployment of administrative assistance for year teams and departments.
To produce information to staff in the form of the weekly Update and display through the Plasma Display screen.
To liaise with Deputy Head (Pupils) to plan and order pupil diaries on a termly basis.
Supporting SMT during the recruitment process by managing the administrative task for
candidates. Also taking notes and minutes for disciplinary meetings when required.

Skills, Attributes:-

Good GCSE passes in English and Maths or equivalent.
Knowledge of a secondary school working environment
Excellent organisation skills
Ability to plan for and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
Ability to work in and lead a team

Understanding of safeguarding
Attention to detail
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g.Excel, Word, Outlook and
Knowledge of School Information Management Systems (SIMS)

A willingness to be flexible at particular times of the year
