Occupational Therapist for Special Needs Primary School

Start date: ASAP
Location: Near Stowmarket
Pay: Negotiable
Hours: Full time and permanent

REED Education are currently working with Specialist Primary & Secondary School (key Stage 1 to key stage 5 ) located close to Stowmarket. They are currently seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist to support their students who all have been diagnosed with some level of dyslexia.

About the school:

The School is a unique independent SEN school, it provides a specialist meaningful and functional learning environment for children with dyslexia and potentially mild learning disabilities. This includes language, communication and social pragmatic difficulties.

They have a multi-dimensional and personalised curriculum that puts the needs of the individual at the heart of learning. They believe the child's emotional wellbeing and happiness are of the highest importance. They are committed towards a holistic approach which includes classroom learning, therapies and home life. Therapists work alongside teachers to help lower anxiety, improve wellbeing, and support readiness to learn. This role will form part of the multi-disciplinary team to provide universal, targeted and specialist approaches to each child's development. Their curriculum is adapted from the National Curriculum and further personalised depending on each individual child's needs. This tailored approach gives children the opportunity to be taught in line with their individual learning styles, giving them further opportunities to be successful, thus promoting self-esteem and self-confidence.
