NPI Buyer (New Product Introduction)

Your new role
Your new role as an NPI Buyer (new product introduction) will work closely with cross-functional teams and will become instrumental in the whole process of New Product Introduction by developing and managing its supply chain.
As a key figure in developing a supplier base and managing relationships between the supplier and engineering / design teams, you will have a vital role in delivering commercial value to to new products.
Ensure component supply strategy is aligned with plant vision in terms of
Cost, Quality, Delivery and Flexibility - NPI programs are delivered on time and at target cost
Work within and develop the NPI systems and practices with a view to best
practice installation utilising knowledge from other plants of the company - Maintain high levels of professionalism and positive work ethics
To maintain an up to date awareness of Market Trends and their possible impacts on business
To negotiate initial component costs and lead time agreements, including fixturing, tooling and gauging associated with component manufacture - To prepare RFQ’s using suppliers from approved bidding lists
Select suppliers for NPI projects and ensure supplier readiness for SOP.
Complete CMS activities in line with Management expectations for NPI Purchasing
To explore available technology and implement best practices related to
purchasing activities - Raise purchasing orders and associated documentation as required
Knowledge & Experience:
Ideally Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or related field.
At least 2 years purchasing experience
Ideally practical experience in the procurement of polymers, casting and machining processes.
Computer literate (MS Office).
MRP experience required
Ability to read technical drawings.
Good written, verbal and presentation skills.
Excellent negotiation skills.
It is essential that you have a progressive attitude to developing your career with the drive and determination to succeed.
You should have the skills and confidence required to present to large groups of managers for the purpose of providing costs analysis and supplier recommendations.
