I am recruiting for a confident and organised medical secretary, to provide excellent secretarial support to all Consultants within this Private Practice, with particular responsibility for one or two Consultant’s work. A passion for customer care, exceptional interpersonal skills and a high level of patient focus is needed. Previous medical secretarial experience and audio typing of 70 WPM is essential, with AMSPAR qualifications an advantage. 

This is a Permanent Position with a 12 week probation period the ideal candidate will start as soon as possible. The required hours are 9:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday



Working closely with the Consultants and existing team of Medical secretaries to:

Manage efficient appointment systems ensuring that all clinical data is available for each clinic.

Transcription of dictation from audio of all correspondence relating to all medical and personal matters, whilst maintaining confidentiality.

Organising any follow-up investigations relating to clinic appointments, completing the relevant forms and liaising with patients and relevant departments.

Invoicing insurance companies, patients and solicitors. Taking payments and some other accounts duties as required.

Liaising and corresponding with Insurance Companies for approval of treatment and fees.

Liaising with Anaesthetists for anaesthetic work-up and pre-assessment investigations for surgical treatment.

Maintaining an accurate database of patients.

To deal with all patients enquirers in an efficient, polite and professional manner.

Filing of all correspondence, photocopying, dealing with post (Internal, external/incoming/outgoing) faxing and e-mails.

To maintain a good standard of tidiness within the department.

 Ensure that all telephones are covered to meet the needs of the business.

Perform any additional ad hoc duties that are required by this role to ensure the office runs efficiently and is covered during opening hours.

Inform the Practice Manager of any concerns you may have.
