We are looking for a confident and organised medical secretary to work within our team, to provide excellent secretarial support to all Consultants within this Private Practice, with particular responsibility two Consultant’s work. A passion for customer/ patient care, and exceptional interpersonal skills . Previous medical secretarial experience and audio typing of 70 WPM is essential, with AMSPAR qualifications an advantage.

-Manager of any concerns you may have.

-Maintaining accurate database of patients.

Liaising with Anesthetists for anesthetic work-up and pre assessment investigations for surgical treatment.

-Invoicing insurance companies, patients and solicitors. Taking payments and some other accounts duties as required.

-To ensure that all telephones are covered to meet the needs of the business.

-Working closely with the Consultants and existing team of Medical secretaries to:

-To maintain a good standard of tidiness within the department.

-Organizing follow-up investigations relating to clinic appointments, completing the relevant forms and liaising with patients and relevant departments.

-To deal with all patients
in an efficient, polite and professional manner.

-To perform any additional ad hoc duties that are required by this role to ensure the office runs efficiently and is covered during opening hours.

-Manage efficient appointment systems ensuring that all clinical data is available for each clinic.

-Filing of all correspondence, photocopying, dealing with post (Internal, external/incoming/outgoing) faxing and e-mails.

-Liaising and corresponding with Insurance Companies for approval of treatment and fees.

-Transcription of dictation from audio of all correspondence relating to all medical and personal matters, whilst maintaining confidentiality.
