A Fantastic opportunity has arise for a high performing All Girls Secondary School in Enfield are looking for an Maths Teacher to join their team in the new academic year.

We are looking to recruit a Teacher of Mathematics (to cover maternity leave) to join a thriving department that achieved outstanding results with the new Mathematics GCSE. The position is available from January 2018 for this diverse, multi-cultural, girls’ comprehensive school. The successful applicant must be capable of teaching Mathematics at KS3 and KS4.

The school is set near to the national links (Enfield Town) and has local buses running regularly. In addition there is a large free car park and local cafes and high street shops.

The school is an all Girls school with a great sense of community and support for all and are way above the national average for grades.
The team are very supportive and the leadership team believe in 'work. life, balance'.
With a large staff room and great facilities you are able to 'relax' on your break in a comfortable atmosphere or if you prefer you can sit on the large greenery surroundings.

This position offers MPS and UPS and can either be through the agency or on a permanent basis (depending on your preference)

There are nine full time Mathematics teachers in the Department and four part-time
teachers. Colleagues work on both sites and teach across the age and ability range. In
addition to the Mathematics Co-ordinator there is a second in Department who has
responsibility for KS3. There is a Coordinator for Raising Achievement at KS4. The
department is also supported by a Higher Level Teaching Assistant who is deployed in
consultation with the SEND department. The department has dedicated teaching rooms
and storage facilities on both sites. There is an office for use by the Head of Department
situated at the Upper School.

Across all year groups students are placed in classes according to ability. Progress of
each student is regularly monitored through written assessments. At the end of year 11
students are entered for the Edexcel linear GCSE (1MA1).
Students entering Post-16 education are prepared for A Level Mathematics with
Edexcel, which offers a combination of Core Mathematics, Mechanics, Statistics.
The Mathematics Department is committed to ensuring that students of all abilities
achieve to their full potential and have achieved outstanding results with the new
Mathematics GCSE. Colleagues are enthusiastic about their work and are looking to
appoint a colleague with a similar outlook.

Duties
To liaise with Subject Co-ordinator about curriculum developments.
To contribute to curriculum development, production of schemes of work and student
materials for use throughout the ability range.
To contribute to the organisation of displays for prospective parents evening and to help
maintain appropriate displays of work throughout the year.
To demonstrate a commitment to bringing the subject to life, through active teaching and
enquiry learning, use of technology
To liaise with other members of the department as necessary and take an active role in
department self-evaluation
To attend school and Borough meetings and working parties when appropriate
To complete administration relevant to the post
To complete other reasonable tasks as delegated by the Headteacher via the Subject Coordinator







The Ideal Teacher would hold qualified teaching status, experience teaching maths and also have the following:

Experience of teaching at KS3 and KS4 (A,I,R)

Knowledge and understanding of effective classroom
strategies around planning, organisation, behaviour and
learning (A,I,R)

Understanding of the theory and practice of providing
effectively for the individual needs of students within a mixed
ability classroom (A, I)

Knowledge and understanding of the statutory National
Curriculum requirements at the appropriate key stage including
monitoring, assessing, recording and reporting of students’
progress and preparation for public examinations (A,I,R)

Knowledge and understanding of the statutory requirements of
legislation concerning e.g. Equal Opportunities, Health and
Safety, SEND, Child Protection and Safeguarding (I)

To be ICT literate, making appropriate use of IT as a teaching
tool. (A,R)

Understanding of strategies to be used to improve standards of
teaching and learning (A,I)

Knowledge of current educational issues and initiatives. (A)
