My client is based in Hendon, North West London and make bespoke items for their industry. You will be reporting directly to the Works Manager and this is primarily a hands on position where 90% of your time will be spent actually manufacturing and finishing masks. Approximately 10% of your time should be spent managing the work through the department.

The manufacture and fitting of  mask bibs, padding and associated product.
To supervise a team of three employees and be responsible for the overall department functions.
To set the standard and lead by example as well as optimise the departments output and quality in line with demand.

Key duties
The manufacture and fitting of bibs and inside padding to completion a sword fencing mask ready for sale.
Ensure raw materials are requested in good time.
Organising daily production.
Providing weekly and monthly figures.
To organising holiday requests
Deal with local disciplinary issues where necessary.

Processes include:
Mask preparation, cleaning and spraying.
Using a hydraulic press break, high frequency welder, hot foil printing, leather slitting machine.
Various forms of manual and semi-automatic riveting.

Must have passed a basic English exam.
Must demonstrate you can speak, read and write English as a primary function to be able to give and receive instructions and communicate effectively without confusion. Numerate and passed a basic level of maths.

Must be physically fit and capable of lifting 25kg regularly and without any issues.
Should be nimble and dextrous especially when it comes to the fitting of bibs.
Have a good keen eye for detail and be able to consistently set the standard in terms of output and quality.
Be able to understand why something is done a certain way rather than blindly copying the method.
Must have a “can do” approach, and be capable of contributing with process and product development
Capable of solving day to day issues using their own initiative, but also know when something is beyond their own ability and ask for assistance.


Duration Permanent with a 12 worked week Probation Period = 60 working days, during which time you will be paid weekly through reed Engineering

Rate £10.00 an hour = £20,800 per annum and upon successful completition of your 3 month Probationary Period, your hourly rate will be increased to £11.00 an hour = £22,880 per annum

Bonus: There is a shared monthly department bonus based upon output and an annual companywide Christmas bonus.

Hours 40 Hours a week

Times Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 5:00pm with 15min break and 30 min lunch
Friday 8:00am to 2:00pm with one 15 min break

Holiday 20 days per annum plus the 8 Bank Holidays, increasing by 1 day per full year of service up to a max of 23 days per annum plus the 8 Bank Holidays

Benefits Company branded wear and PPE including safety shoes are provided and there is a Statutory state pension with optional opt out and company contribution.
