Management Accountant - 14 month contract

A great opportunity to join a reputable company in Royston for 14 months in their Finance Team. This company is very friendly, welcoming, and has incredibly low turnover. Reporting directly into the Financial Controller, as well as working alongside a small transactional team. 

Essential for the job:
• Numerate
• Good Excel skills
• Knowledge of complex computerised accounting packages

Desirable:
• Experience of an ERP system
• Experience of project accounting


• Final posting of sales invoices and assisting Order Execution team with any queries.
• Invoicing of intercompany recharges to other Group entities.
• Full responsibility for the sales ledger and verification of accuracy of all postings, including full accountability for end of year records.
• Acting as the main point of contact for the intercompany AP and AR reconciliations and query resolution.
• Posting and reconciliation of intercompany loan accounts.
• Reviewing third party accounts receivable and chasing late payments.
• Responsibility for accruals and prepayment postings and reconciliations.
• Review and analysis of departmental overhead costs, comparing to budget and understanding variances.
• Review and analysis of revenue and gross margins. Working with the Financial Controller to monitor margins for different product types and investigate variances or trend shifts.
• Act as cover for bank reconciliations and postings.
• Financial analysis of month end numbers ahead of finalising month end accounts
• Preparing month end accounts receivable reconciliations.
• Assisting in the preparation of month end P&L and Balance sheet.
• Assisting with monthly parent company submissions.
• Assisting other members and workload of the finance team as required.


Qualifications

ACA / ACCA / CIMA Part Qualified or significant experience in a finance department

Experience
• Experience related to the above accountabilities
• Good communicator – within department / company / externally
• Able to manage own workload and prioritise accordingly to meet deadlines
• Good Excel skills, with the ability to use formulas, lookups and pivot tables.
• Ability to see the bigger picture/implication of the data being analysed
