My client, based in Attleborough are seeking a Management Accountant to join their growing team on a full time, permanent basis. All measures have been taken to ensure safe on-boarding can take place and the successful candidate will be joining a team who are well prepared and equipped to manage in the current COVID19 situation.
This position will report directly into the Financial Director and will be both a strategic and hands on role, allowing the successful candidate an opportunity to grow and progress within the business.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Support with the preparation of financial statements for internal and external use
- Support with the preparation of month end and year end reports
- Support with the preparation of statutory accounts
- Manage the monthly payroll process
- To manage and administer all functions of the purchase ledger, cash book and daily reconciliation of bank accounts
- Contribute to annual budgeting and planning processes and ensure spending is in line with those agreed budgets throughout the year
- Recommend methods and strategies for cutting costs across the business
- Review accounting processes and practices and improve where necessary to ensure efficient financial operations
- The completion & sending of VAT returns and PAYE
- Maintain financial policies and management information systems
- Advise and work alongside the Management team on financial decisions
- Cover credit control and sales invoicing when required
- General ad-hoc duties as and when required
Skills and experience required:
- Intermediate to advanced excel skills required
- Ideally educated to degree level in a Finance related subject, or similar
- Ideally working towards, or already qualified with, an Accountancy qualification CIMA/ACA/ACCA
- Proven experience as a Management Accountant, or a similar position
- Excellent knowledge of financial regulations and legislation
- Thorough understanding of management information systems, accounting and financial principles and practices
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task and effectively prioritise
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all business levels
- Strong attention to detail
- Analytical skills
- Good problem-solving skills
