Reed’s Engineering team for the Midlands are working exclusively with a food manufacturing company based in Nottingham who are seeking an enthusiastic Maintenance Engineer to join their team due to an increase in workload and growth of the business.

The company have a long history within Nottingham and throughout their residence they have seen a significant development in their manufacturing. Increasing the range of processes on site and also their customer base, this company is going from strength to strength and have a great future plan for the business.

The Role.

Working as part of a small maintenance team, the Maintenance Engineer will report to the Site Engineer and have a range of different responsibilities on site. You will be working on a 3 shift rotation and also be responsible for a call out period on one of the shifts.

One of the main aspects of the role besides maintenance will include designing, building and installing various control panels on site. The purpose of the control panels being built could vary across the site, however could contain things such as: links, relays and timers.

The Maintenance side of the role will include maintenance on a range of food manufacturing equipment including: Cutting machines and Ovens, as well as a number of bespoke machines that perform a variety of functions. This maintenance will be Electrical and Mechanical.

As an everyday part of your role you will be making contributions towards Continuous Improvements wherever possible.

There is also a very big focus for Health and Safety across the site and being a food manufacturing company you can understand why. Whilst performing your duties within the role you should be adhering to all Health and Safety guidelines and ensure others are doing so too.

The role may also call for building maintenance, however this isn’t something too prominent.

The Person.

As mentioned above, this company are experiencing significant growth and have a plan to expand and increase production. What they’re looking for is someone who will be excited to be on this journey with them.

The role itself calls for experience within certain areas, however if you have the right type of attitude and are extremely enthusiastic and willing to learn, training courses can be provided.

Within this role, you should have either the 16th or 17th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification as a lot of the work will involve work on control panels.

You will be able to read Engineering Drawings and it will also be beneficial if you can create your own drawings as some of the work may be unique to the machinery on site.
You should also have maintenance experience, Electrical and Mechanical.
