The role is to provide high quality legal support to the firm's team of Commercial and Residential Property Solicitors. You will be required to provide both administrative assistance and legal support to the case-handlers and, under supervision, undertake a range of property related matters.
File-opening in accordance with the firm's Case Management procedures and liaising with clients, agents and third-party solicitors in respect of the same.
Attending and supporting at client meetings
Assisting with the implementation of the firm's Anti-Money Laundering procedures.
Assisting with due diligence, lease reports and title reports
Drafting documents using agreed standards and the firm’s precedent library
Coordinating document management on large transactions
Preparation, under supervision, of SDLT Land Transaction Returns, and filing the same.
Assisting solicitors with exchange and pre-completion matters including invoicing, preparation of completion statements, requesting mortgage funds.
Handling completions of residential property transactions
Dealing with all aspects of post completion to include registration of transactions at Companies House and the Land Registry and issuing deeds to Lender's and/ or clients or archiving the same.
Financial and file management including closing of files in accordance with the firm's procedures.
Dealing with ad hoc enquiries raised by clients in relation to the management of their file
To answer client and third-party enquiries quickly and efficiently (telephone, e-mail and in-person)
General office, administrative duties: photo-copying; scanning; post-opening; filing; data entry; arranging conference calls;
To help ensure that the firm's computer database is continually and promptly updated.
Excellent IT literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office
Excellent written English
An ability to deliver accurate, technically correct and easy to understand pieces of work, which may include advice
