A well established practice in the west London area are currently in a position to take on a new legal administrator, this is a very varied role which will come with full training.
My Client is a paperless office, which means that the administrator will need to be technically astute as all work will need to be uploaded onto the system.
The nature of the role would suit possibly a 2nd/3rd jobber, as there is no direct progression for the role, my Client is very honest and has asked only applicants that would be happy to stay in the same position for a long period of time will be considered for interview.
Check all incoming emails each day and at regular intervals of at least once every hour on:
· All admin email addresses
-Supporting the Partners and fee earners
-Looking after the company website to ensure updates are dealt with
-Answering Phone Calls-
· Transferring calls/ Stacking calls
· Take calls from DSCC
· Deal with routine queries
· Filter to fee earner
· Calls to partners to be screened
· All new clients to be referred to a Partner
· New Enquiry form to be completed
· All calls to be logged on casenotes
· Take detailed messages and email message to feearner
For all Court Appearances (in Mags and Crown Court)- check if interpreter booked by court if required
Deal with walk in queries
Scanning- Scan to FE
Scanning case papers
Keep case management system updated with contact details, key dates, case notes etc
Brief chambers/ agents when instructed
Chasing outstanding Legal Aid on cases
Chasing BTR dates & outcomes with police
Opening files on System
Ensure that all information is accurately completed and input on case management system
Checking client ID-
Book office appointments and prison visits
The ideal candidate for this role must have excellent English skills, both written and orally.
Please understand the technical knowledge is essential as the office is paperless, please do not apply if you would struggle in such an environment.
