Our REED Education FE branch are currently working with a great college on an exciting new role in the Southampton Area.

Starting on ASAP, September 2017, the college are looking for an outstanding Learning Support Assistant in Supported Learning to join them on a Temporary cover basis.

The College:

· Our client’s ambition in Hampshire is a further education college providing technical and professional training and Apprenticeships to school leavers, in addition to part-time professional courses and part-time leisure courses for adults.

The Role:

• Delivering support specifically in the SSL area.
• Staff members will be required to have specialist skills in supporting students with severe to moderate SEN needs.
• Achievement of learning outcomes, by learners receiving additional learning support, as detailed in individual learning plans
• Good communication between learning support and curriculum staff resulting in seamless additional learning support delivered to all entitled learners in the most appropriate manner and location

DUTIES:

· •1. To support teaching staff in the training and delivery of the curriculum to students with learning difficulties, language needs and/or disabilities.
2. To assist students with the organisation and completion of their college work e.g. assignments, note-taking, research etc.
3. To develop and maintain effective relations with learners that promote learning.
4. To promote and support English and maths in lessons across the college.
5. Monitor, review and record learner progress in accordance with the electronic individual learning plans and setting SMART Targets.
6. Ensure that all additional learning support funding opportunities are recorded and passed to the Learning and Skills Centre Manager.
7. To support cross-college communication with curriculum staff regarding support needs.
8. To actively promote the Success Centre and equality of opportunity for staff and students and promote an inclusive learning environment.
9. To provide welfare assistance where necessary, signposting students to the full range of college services.
10. To undertake administrative duties as required by the Lead LSAs or Learning and Skills Centre Manager.
