Job Title: Learning Support Worker
Location: Twickenham, Middlesex
Pay rate: £12 - £15 per hour
Hours: 08:30-16:30
Duration: ASAP 

Our REED Education FE branch are currently working with a Great College on an exciting new role in the Twickenham area.

Starting immediately, the college are looking for an outstanding Learning Support
to join them on a temporary basis.

The Role:

· -Help identify and support individual students’ learning in the most effective way for each student. This might include working on a one-to-one, small group, classroom or drop-in basis to:
-Help with the initial assessment of new/prospective students
- Help students to improve their grasp of basic skills eg literacy
-Help students with research, referencing and information retrieval skills
-Develop numeracy and study skills including essay writing
-Provide practical assistance with IT and other enabling technology
- Act as an amanuensis – taking notes, reading and discussing them
- Assist students with behaviour management strategies
- Offer subject/skill expertise in agreed areas of College provision
- Liaise with Learning Support to provide specific support to individual students with identified Learning Difficulties and Disabilities.

What you will need:

-Either: educated to A level or equivalent
Or: educated to GCSE standard or equivalent plus a minimum of two years working in an educational environment.
-The ability and confidence to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
The ability to work accurately, showing attention to detail, particularly with regard to grammar, spelling and number.
-Possession of good interpersonal skills, e.g. tact, sensitivity, ability to listen, to be assertive at times.
-Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
-The ability to be proactive and work independently
