Our REED Education FE branch are currently working with a great college on an exciting new role in the Southampton Area.

Starting on ASAP, September 2017, the college are looking for an outstanding Learning Support Assistant in Supported Learning to join them on a Temporary Basis.

The College:

· Our client’s ambition in Hampshire is a further education college providing technical and professional training and Apprenticeships to school leavers, in addition to part-time professional courses and part-time leisure courses for adults.

The Role:
•• To coordinate the day to day operation of the additional learning support team
• To establish formal channels of communication between additional learning support and nominated learning area.
• Ensure the provision of additional learning support to learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities is appropriate and that their learning needs are met.

Duties:

-Support the Learning and Skills Centre Manager in the coordination of the day to day running of additional learning support ensuring that the Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) are utilised appropriately and effectively including timetabling and their allocation for classroom and one to one support.

-Take on responsibility as curriculum liaison for one specific division in the college. (Supported Learning, Professional and Creative, Technology and Science) Establishing and maintaining good channels of communication between additional learning support and nominated division tutors/course managers in nominated programme areas

-Support the quality assurance of the learning support provision by; identifying areas of development and supporting them with development plans through mentoring and the sharing of good practice.

- In conjunction with the learning support team, the Learning and Skills Centre Manager and curriculum tutors, coordinate delivery of the reviews of Education Health and Care Plans for the nominated division.
-Support the representation of the additional learning support area at relevant internal and external meetings.

- Implement training programmes as required by Student Support Services Manager..

· You will be working with students aged 16+

What you will need:
-GCSE English and Mathematics (grade A*-C)
-Experience of supporting learners with learning difficulties or disabilities in the post 16 sector
-Excellent communication skills
