Lead IT Support Engineer

Location: North East/ Remote

Type: Permanent

Salary: £28,000 - £34,000 DOE


A technically innovative company are looking for a Lead IT Support Engineer to head up their support division. Alongside outstanding customer service, this company are looking for leader who is keen to take ownership of all support issues and design the IT support strategy moving forwards. This company is looking for a Lead IT Support Engineer who is keen to learn the software and applciations in depth, work collaboratively with the team, progress their career and eventually build an outstanding team around them. You will be supported by a first-class team of developers and testers who you can turn to with queries and questions.

This company are looking for a customer focussed person who can offer advice and fixes to their variety of customers. With an ever-growing list of customers and clients, your communication will be key regarding infrastructure support. You will the key point of contact for client queries and take responsibility for co-ordinating which team members would be best suited to resolve technical issues. This company are looking for you to bring your own flare to the role, advising on current procedures, and be the owner, responsible for the implementation of any changes to improve support desk efficiency.

Key skills required for this position:

  • Experience working in an IT Support Environemnt.
  • Enthusiasm to work with clients on resolving issues.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tickets and update clients on progress.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Ability to delegate issues to the software development or testing team where necessary.
  • Experience working with Windows Operating systems.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Operating Systems.
  • Ability to read/write basic SQL would be desirable.

Desirable skills include:

  • Experience working with Azure server from a remote desktop.
  • Experience working with client servers from a remote desktop.
  • Ability to trouble shoot and detect issues on a server through remote access.
  • An understanding of cloud technologies


This role will give you opportunity for excellent carer progression through upskilling on a day-to-day basis. You will have the opportunity to take on a leadership position within the team and create a solid support function around you.
