We are delighted to be able to support a £7.5m turnover Travel Business that has been trading for 16 years with their search for an International Financial Controller. As a result of significant growth in recent years that has been driven by an ambitious owner management team, they are now looking to appoint a Permanent International Financial Controller in a newly created position. This company employ 150 staff worldwide, 48 of those based at their Central Liverpool Head Office where this role will be based.

This opportunity is to be the Number 1 in Finance position and will sit as part of the Global Leadership team, which currently includes CEO, COO & Business Development Director. You will initially have a Bookkeeper reporting to you but there is scope to recruit an additional person within the next year and then grow the team further.

Duties will include:

- Managing all financial & commercial aspects of the Group
- Further developing the existing financial & commercial reporting within the business units
- Interfacing with external Accountants & banks both in UK & Overseas
- Managing & presenting monthly financial reporting
- Moving reporting on to a cloud based system
- Agreeing contracts with domestic & overseas partners
- Negotiating & agreeing commercial contracts with all suppliers
- Managing & controlling overhead costs throughout the Group
- Statutory Accounts preparation subject to Corporation Tax
- Preparation of draft consolidated group accounts
- Monthly Management Accounts preparation
- Accruals & Prepayments

This role will pay a salary in the region of £50,000 - £60,000 + long term incentive plan including profit share. Some international travel will be required, probably around 3-4 weeks per year. Hours of work are 9am - 5pm. Flexible working is on offer.

- Ideally a Qualified Accountant although good "Qualified by Experience" candidates will be considered
- Ideally someone with experience of working for a small company that has grown rapidly
- Familiarity with exchange rates will be useful, particularly US Dollars
- Experience in the Travel industry would be advantageous but not essential. You should however have previously worked for a fast paced service based business.
- Knowledge of VAT implications would be helpful
- Good team player
- Ability / experience of implementing a management reporting package that sits on top of the current accounts & operations systems
- Experience of working as part of a successful management team
- It would be highly desirable if you have previously worked for international businesses, including spending time overseas negotiating contracts or managing staff & overheads
- Experience of implementing detailed & complex financial planning forecasting tools to predict profit as well as cash accurately.
