On behalf of an Insurance Company, Reed Specialist Recruitment is seeking to recruit an Insurance Officer / Client Manager to mainly responsible for underwriting of insurance and reinsurance contracts for client companies, in compliance with the underwriting guidelines.

Key responsibilities:
• Assist with the drafting and issuing of cover notes, debit and credit notes together with the appropriate policy documents
• Handle and negotiate claims settlements, together with agreeing recoveries where appropriate from insurers and reinsurers and to maintain the associated claims databases
• Maintain and prepare statistics, reports and statements of premiums, claims reserves and IBNR provisions, in line with the client’s loss reserving and accounting policies
• Preparation and presentation of insurance and management reports for client meetings
• Assist/coordinate the planning of client board and committee meetings and the production of the necessary agenda, board / committee papers and minutes
• Assist on all insurance (and to a limited extent accounting functions) for a selected portfolio of client companies
• Responsible for completion of self-contained tasks or clients, subject to the review procedures required
• Assist/contribute to the production of management accounts (technical insurance side) together with supporting documents for board and other meetings, and comply with clients' individual normal reporting requirements
• To compile and submit periodical returns to regulatory authorities
• Assist on banking transactions and asset management administration for a selected portfolio of client companies in compliance with the Investment Guidelines where necessary
• To assist in the preparation of financial statements (technical insurance side) to pre audit stage, and to assist the respective client company’s auditors
• Assist with the preparation of budgets, feasibility studies and similar financial projections
• Assist in the implementation and operation of all computer systems
• Undertake the relevant procedures to maintain and enhance the Company’s quality standards
• To assist colleagues, and provide cover while colleagues are away from the office
• To entertain clients, as requested, during and outside business hours (all reasonable costs will be borne by the Company)
• To assist in the training of colleagues and associates of the Company
• To attend suitable training courses either in Malta or abroad (all reasonable costs will be borne by the Company)
• To assist in the general running and operations of the office, including occasionally answering the telephone and carrying out similar routine office functions

• B.A. Hons Insurance / CII Qualifications / ACII
• Around a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Fluent in Microsoft Office, particularly in Excel
• Presentation skills, public speaking, analytical and organized
