My client in Woking currently have a great opportunity for an Insight Controller to join them on a full time permanent basis. 

Role purpose: 

Leading the Global Insight team, providing analytical services for the business.

The role will include leading the development of the data led insight, visualisation of analysis and reporting, development of relevant analytical capability, presenting and preparing client presentations, client reviews, as well as training and mentoring members of the Global Insight team.

Some travel will be required including but not exclusively USA, Europe and Australia/NZ.

Main responsibilities: 

Team management and leadership
The Global team on analysts currently numbers 6 with the team currently spread across the USA, Australia, France, Germany and the UK. This is likely to expand to other countries in the coming months.

The analysts will be directly reporting to this role. Communication to the different time countries and zones will therefore be required occasionally in person but more frequently by video conference and telco. Some flexibility in working times will therefore be required to accommodate the USA and Australasia.

The responsibility regarding the team includes:
• Leading & supporting the delivery of added value analysis
• Supporting and delivering at presentations
• Supporting and delivering client reviews
• Leading the development of the analytical team abilities
• Quality control and application of consistent standards across the team
• Matching those in the other areas of the Group of companies
• Overlaying commercial knowledge to ensure all analysis and output is client relevant and set in a commercial context that enables the recommendations to be operationally realistic and appropriate
• Individual objective setting
• Appraisals
• Training & development
• Mentoring

Inform analytical capability:
Through understanding the country/market context, strategy and field team objectives identify and deliver to the account teams the business opportunity to influence incremental sales. Lead and initiate the direction of insight projects.

Lead the development of new capability where appropriate using existing and new data sources. Lead and support the statistical analysis including forecasting, regression modelling, correlation analysis and return on investment.

Experience and skills: 

5 plus years of commercial FMCG experience in a developed market Channel/Customer Marketing or Market Research.
Degree – statistical/marketing/business discipline
Good broad commercial skills
Experience of dealing with EPOS data
Problem solving & decision making
High PC literacy; excellent Excel essential
First class presentation skills
Great visual communication of data
Previous leadership and man management experience
Excellent communication skills verbal and written
Excellent time management and multi tasking skills
Initiative and flexibility
First class English both written and verbal
Driving licence
