My client imports food stuffs into retail channels from overseas. They are looking for someone to join their Imports team in order to support the growth they are experiencing.

Working Times: Monday – Friday 0700-1600hrs.
Holiday Entitlement: 20 days + Bank holidays

Job Description

- Communicating with Overseas suppliers by e-mail and telephone.
- End to end purchase order processing, including:
o Receiving orders from our purchasing team.
o Approving and placing orders with suppliers.
o Pricing negotiations with suppliers.
o Track and tracing and pushing orders and shipments through order placement, production, sailing and delivery.
o Detailed shipping document checks and various imports licence applications ensuring that current UK Import Laws and requirements are complied with.
o Liaising with shipping lines, freight forwarders, clearing agents and haulage companies.
o Liaising with our warehouse team for goods-in bookings.
o Receipt and delivery of container orders and palletised deliveries.
- Conveying supplier price changes, periodic promotions, delays and other correspondences to all teams and senior management members.
- Placing purchase orders and booking stock in on Sage 200.
- Account and database management.
- Clerical and documentation management.
- Negotiating and organising road haulage and ocean freight.
- Placing orders with suppliers in the UK and arranging delivery.

Desirable
- Knowledge and experience of working with Sage 200.
- Experience of end to end order placement.
- Knowledge of the Importing process via Sea/Air/Road.
