At Reed Legal we have another exciting job opportunity for an experienced litigation and immigration lawyer based in Central London. Public sector experience is preferable as you will be working within a Central Government Department.

Your primary task will be to successfully manage your own caseload of public law challenges to Government immigration decisions. You will be able to take extensive responsibility for your own cases, with appropriate supervision after a period of induction, whilst working independently under pressure. Excellent organisational, effective team working and client care skills are essential. Drafting pleadings and advices forms a substantial part of the work and good written skills are also an important requirement of the role.

Your main responsibilities:

- Provide legal advice in answer to complex compliance enquiries from external stakeholders.
Case handling and management
- Use a process of analysis, planning, scheduling, prioritising, action, quality monitoring and review.
- Take responsibility for own work with substantial degree of autonomy but knowing when to consult and delegate.
- Give early warning to those affected by changing priorities.
- Display an understanding of the resourcing requirements of own cases and of the context in which the client operates.
- Adopt a professional attitude and a style most likely to build an effective working relationship with the client.
- Respond to reasonable client requests including agreeing achievable and realistic actions, time scales.
- Acknowledges clients’ concerns and works to alleviate these in a way which balances client needs.
- Is alert to media interest which may have an impact on the reputation of the client.
- Helps other team members to meet tight deadlines to preserve department’s reputation.
- Focuses on customer service and looks pro-actively for solutions.
- Keeps abreast of legal developments and current thinking on related policy issues.
- Uses training and other methods to refresh and improve their skills and others.
