We have a fantastic opportunity for an ICT Service Desk Agent, working at a Leading Local Authority in Greater Manchester. This is a temporary full-time role, initially for the next 2 - 3 months.

The Role

Your role will be to assist the ICT Service Team, by using your knowledge and skills of standard operating systems and business applications. For example, Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office suites, popular web browsers, and Microsoft Exchange to email clients. Also to resolve any IT issues that the clients, colleagues and managers may have, so that there systems are fully without any major issues.

Duties

To have experience of working within a multi-tenanted, KPI/SLA driven technical service desk.

You will require experience of working in a IT Customer service environment.

Knowledge of hardware and systems software installation and support.

Good problem-solving aptitude and skills with a positive analytical attitude to support process and performance improvement.

Be able to diagnose technical faults quickly and accurately over the telephone, using the remote assistance tools and techniques available.

Knowledge of PC hardware components and peripherals.

Experience of technical problem solving in a Microsoft Active Directory/Windows Server and Novell Client /Service environment.

Some experience of technical problem resolution on e.g. the Citrix terminal services platform and VME/Mainframe platform.

Excellent communication skills – both written and oral – with the ability to relate to employees, departmental staff, third party suppliers of goods/services, elected members of the Council and management at all levels and users with varying degrees of technical knowledge.

Key Requirements

  • Previous Local Authority experience as an ICT Service Desk Agent
  • Must have Relevant IT Qualifications, to be able to complete all tasks within the role.
  • Excellent people skills, being able to talk to clients, all colleagues, and senior professionals.
