Hygiene Manager

Our client is one of the leading food manufacturing supplier brands and own label products in the UK, Europe and International markets from multiple sites throughout the UK. 

Based at their factory in the north east of Scotland this attractive role offers a generous salary with working hours Monday - Friday 10am - 6pm. There will be the occasional weekend shift if there is a site audit however the extra day worked would mean an extra day given back the next working week. 

You wll oversee a team of 22 staff members and report into the factory manager with whom you will have regular contact. 



- Ensure the production area and all peripheral areas of the factory are cleaned to a very high standard
- Educate the team regarding cleaning procedures and standards including free from standards
- Check the team pay close attention to detail breaking down, resembling and cleaning machines. Including putting all protective covers on the machines and bagging all sockets and screens prior to cleaning, to prevent water ingress
- Ensure the production lines are rebuilt as per the production plan
- Participating in hygiene and Free From audits as and when required
- Work to Health and Safety and Food Safety Standards, and where possible exceed requirements
- Maintain stock levels to ensure there is adequate cleaning materials and chemicals but balancing this with the need to maintain minimum stock value and control expenditure
- Complete all documentation and forms, ensure they are maintained including cleaning instruction cards
- Managing the team and ensuring tasks are delegated equally and to cleaners with the appropriate skill set. Providing clear and detailed instructions and guidance

- Knowledge of recent hygiene legislation
- Understanding COSHH regulations
- Awareness of health and safety legislation and regulations
- Food and safety certificate 
- Experience working within a hygiene department in the food industry
