REED are proud to present a temporary ongoing position for a HR Support Officer working with NYP at their Windsor House site. 

Scope

The HR Support Officer is part of an integrated HR Service Centre team.  They are responsible for delivering effective and efficient Human Resource administration processes to enable North Yorkshire Police to meet its operational and support needs, including but not limited to Recruitment and HR Transactional Services activities.

Main Responsibilities

To deliver the  “value adding” H R Service Centre administration and support services that enable NYP clients to achieve their operational, organisational, team or individual requirements.

To provide accurate and timely administration support to the H R Officer, line managers, staff and applicants on recruitment processes, procedures and timescales. This includes Police Officers, Police Staff, transferees and Promotion applicants.

To deliver an effective and timely administration process for all recruitment and selection activities, involving internal and external applicants.

To ensure all HR core administration activities  e.g. leavers, absence, contract changes, maternity, promotions, etc. are processed accurately in a timely manner to meet client requirements.

Produce requested “Key metrics” management information and statistical reports.

To accurately record and update essential information  on personnel files and databases to ensure data quality is effectively maintained.

To deliver an efficient call answering and logging service to enable the HR team to meet client demand.

To support (when required) other HR team members to deliver client requirements.

To provide general administrative support duties e.g. post, filing, photocopying, telephone rota, production, minute taking for meetings. 

Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Good operational I.T. skills.

Excellent communication skills, including telephone manner.

Excellent customer service skills, internally and externally.
