 REED HR Reading are partnering with the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust to recruit for a Medical Workforce Manager to join them on a fixed term contract until March 2021. Band 7.

This role will be based in Reading with free Parking on site with excellent benefits.

Role Purpose:

The role is responsible for the one to one line management of the medical workforce advisors providing support and coaching where appropriate including providing specialist, efficient and professional Medical HR advice.


To act as senior point of contact on all medical staffing issues, including performance management and other procedural matters, ensuring adherence to trust policies, employment legislation, terms and conditions of service and best practice.
To oversee and be responsible for all the medical recruitment and selection processes for consultant appointments and other designated grades of medical staff in accordance with legal requirements, good employment practice and Trust policy.
To provide support and advice to trainees in trouble by liaising with the Deanery, Occupational Health and Director of Postgraduate Medical Education to accord a suitable outcome for the trainee.
The ability to advise and support with sponsorship requirements of migrant workers, ensuring the Trust maintains its licence for use of the Home Office UKBA’s sponsorship management system.
To oversee junior doctor’s hours/EWTR monitoring exercises and be responsible for ensuring that the Trust maintains compliance with EWTR regulations.
To support the Clinical Leads in reviewing Medical Workforce plans
To participate in the review of the medical agency supplier framework, in conjunction with the Procurement Manager and make recommendations for provisions within the contract. To regularly monitor the medical agency supplier framework to ensure required contractual performance is being met.
To be considered for this position, you must be CIPD Qualified, Expertise of working within a healthcare environment in terms of application on NHS policy and process. You will also have up to date knowledge and significant experience of the application of current UK employment legislation and best practice.
