To work within an assigned team engaged in Highway & Urban Design, Traffic Management/Regulations, Traffic signals, projects as appropriate to comply with the Council’s statutory requirements and priorities.
Ensuring a holistic approach to projects; working towards delivery of schemes including any potential environmental improvements possible either independently or by liaising with other teams/departments.
To assist the Team Leader and Engineer to investigate all complaints and service request and undertake initial investigations, consultation, design, commissioning and implementation of the projects.
To investigate schemes, analyse data, design and implement schemes within set time frame and budgets.
To undertake CAD design for assigned projects based on above.
Assist in the preparation of projects for implementation, design standard details where necessary, and liaise with internal and external parties during the progression of the accepted schemes. Assist in progressing them through to committee.
Undertake surveys and make other technical assessments in order to deliver projects and services that comply with the national standards and deliver value for money.
Prepare committee reports, attend meetings with ward councillors and other external bodies.

To assist in investigating and undertaking the design and implementation of highways, drainage, traffic, road safety, traffic control and parking management schemes and overseeing schemes including all consultation as well as contract liaison, estimates and cost control of projects.
Supporting the Senior Technician, Engineer and Team Leader in supervision of the contractors, managing the works on site, checking all works conform to standards including measurement after works are complete to agree final accounts for completed projects for authorising of payment certificates
Ensuring all correspondence and telephone calls responded to efficiently and effectively to meet key performance indicators.
