Are you a dedicated Health and Safety Coordinator looking to work for a leading European manufacturing company in Blackburn?

The role of Health and Safety Co-ordinator:

You will be reporting into the EHS Manager and will assist in the development of policies, procedures and continual improvement programs, to audit and assist in the maintenance of compliance with same within own areas of responsibility

You will also be working with Production and Logistics Teams to promote behavioural safety programs, implement risk improvements and improve overall risk management in own areas of responsibility

Main Accountabilities Health and Safety Co-ordinator:

• Development and delivery of EHS training programs to all staff in own areas of responsibility
• In conjunction with the Production and Logistics Teams, to carry out risk assessment programs on all activities, developing safe operating procedures and assisting the delivery of training programs to implement those safe operating procedures
• Promote and assist a new team of area Safety Champions within own areas of responsibility chairing fortnightly meetings to help drive the safety message across all areas
• Responsible for issuing appropriate personal protective equipment to all employees and the maintenance of required records
• Carry out internal EHS audits e.g. PPE, safety guarding and general safety inspections of sites following up with formal reports and delivery of those reports to relevant Logistics/Production Teams
• Accident and incident investigation across ALL sites within the appropriate timeframes, including those not in own area of responsibility. Following up with appropriate formal reports, identifying, advising and assisting on the implementation of control measures to reduce likelihood of accident/incidents recurring
• Attend daily Production/Logistics meetings to ensure up to date communication of daily activities across all sites requiring EHS involvement/knowledge and to receive/deliver information regarding accidents and incidents
• Maintain statistics on various subjects e.g. accidents, incidents, audits and training
• Provide a monthly departmental report on all EHS activities in own areas of responsibility including not least various statistics, projects and training
• Carry out various systems testing as required within own areas of responsibility e.g. fire alarm and staff evacuation drills

The role will be working 08.30 – 17.00hrs Monday to Friday, however but must be flexible to ensure appropriate workload is delivered across all shift patterns.
