Reed are currently working with a large Non Profitable Organisation based in South East London who are currently seeking an experienced Health and Safety client Officer on a temp to perm basis.

The ideal applicant would be someone who is confident and capable on designing and implementing health and safety policies and ensure timely implementation. This will include managing both operational and strategic aspects of health and safety including assisting operational managers by completing and reviewing risk assessments, safe systems of work, training and advising and implementing adjustments, accident investigations, delivering training, meeting and communication management, reporting, auditing, remedial actions and participating with quality officer on ISO accreditation. 

The candidate would be expected to conduct the majority of their work in the Woolwich Town-hall as well as the main hub in Thamesmead.

The general day to day duties for the post holder would be:

. To design and manage an overall safety development system for the business as required.

. Making changes to working practices that are safe and comply with legislation

. To carry out compliance monitoring visits to all sites and support each process owner with effective action plans as required.

. Carrying out risk assessments for each service and considering and implementing action plans appropriately on how risks could be reduced.

. To undertake risk assessments for individuals who may require adjustments to their work for reasons such as disability, lone working, for expectant mothers among others.

. Carrying out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented.

. Reviewing all accident reports and to ensure that as appropriate further investigation / action or escalation takes place and to ensure common trends are resolved.

. Undertaking accident investigations and making appropriate recommendations bearing in mind the needs of workers and the business.


Applicant would ideally need to have their own form of transport as travelling will be involved 

A relevant health and safety qualification ( i.e NE BOSH General Certificate, NE BOSH Fire Certificate or NE BOSH Diploma) is desirable

Must be immediately available or have a max of 1 week notice
