REED Specialist Recruitment is currently looking for a Head of Finance & Administration on behalf of a leading insurance broking company in Malta. The chosen candidate will be responsible for a team of four people, therefore previous management experience is needed. Candidates coming from an insurance background would be ideal but not necessarily essential.

Key responsibilities:
• Managing the full finance and administrative functions of the company
• Working closely with the director of Finance in improving and rationalizing the financial and administrative practices of the business
• Preparing and presenting monthly financial statements and reports as well as budgets to the board of directors
• Managing the budgeting, cash flow and management accounting functions
• Communicating with external auditors and tax practitioners
• Oversee that all statutory and regulatory requirements are observed and be the main point of contact with the MFSA
• Preparing statistical analysis and other ad hoc management reports

Requirements:
• Excellent leadership, communication and teamwork skills
• Minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in a similar role
• ACCA qualification or University degree in Accountancy (candidates in the final stages of obtaining ACCA accreditation will also be considered)
