We now seek applications for the permanent, full time position of Head of Admissions for a client of ours based in Halstead. The successful candidate will report to the School Principal and will take responsibility for the recruitment, admissions and enrolment process of new pupils.

• Administer all aspects of recruitment, admissions and enrolment relating to the admission of pupils to the school.
• Liaise with the Principal and from time to time, the SLT and governors on all aspects of admissions including weekly reporting.
• Work closely with the schools marketing team to organise literature, open mornings and all events aimed at pupil recruitment.
• Attend all promotional and marketing events, such as open days, taster days, 6th Form evenings and Year 6 into 7 presentations as required, including occasional Saturday morning events
• Build relationships and a network of feeder schools and nurseries aimed at recruitment for Reception Class, Year 7 and 6th Form.
• Act as the first point contact for enquiries about entry to the school made in person, by telephone, at open days and events, by email or by letter from prospective parents and maintain excellent records
• Respond to enquiries with the appropriate literature, arranging visits and conducting tours of the school
• Follow up visits and enquiries and maintain regular and structured contact with prospective parents
• Organise school taster days for prospective pupils
• As appropriate, arrange interviews for prospective parents and pupils with the Principal
• Generate and despatch communications making offers of places for pupils and keep accurate records of acceptance and rejection communications
• Manage and maintain the database of all prospective pupils and their status in the process
• Ensure admissions information on the school website is up to date and current.
• Maintain and provide regular statistical and up to date data relating to admissions status and pupil numbers for review and strategic planning
• Attend and report to meetings of the Governing Council, General Purposes and Finance Committees
• Create and manage bursary and scholarship days and liaise with the Principal and Finance Committee with regard to the consideration of bursary applications
• Administer the registration procedure once a new pupil has been accepted and respond to parental queries regarding admissions, liaising with internal teams
• Build relationships with estate agents and other sources involved with bringing new families to the Essex area

The ideal candidate will currently hold the position of Registrar or Admissions Officer at a school, preferably in the Independent sector;
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Registrar or Admissions Officer and must have independent school knowledge
• Highly efficient and organised administration skills
• Excellent CRM database skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• A positive, pleasant and professional manner when liaising with a wide range of stakeholders
• The ability to analyse statistical data and evaluate practice and processes
• The ability to work and multitask calmly under pressure
• Reliable and completely trustworthy with confidential information
• Flexibility to work from time to time outside normal hours
• A can-do attitude and a flexible approach to a demanding workload
Key features for this role:
The position of Head of Admissions has a starting salary of £35,000 per annum. A generous, uncapped bonus scheme based on revenue growth criteria though increasing fee paying pupil numbers is offered and paid annually. Private health insurance is also offered.
