On behalf of my client I am currently seeking a Head Chef/Kitchen Manager who will be responsible for managing a team of experienced chefs/cooks in a new, up and coming restaurant in the Banbridge area. An amazing opportunity for a real leader to develop the kitchen, food offering and implement a strong brigade. Knowledge of local produce and locality is desirable.

*Organisation of kitchen - responsible for all food production ensuring that food is prepared to an exemplary standard and delivery of smooth operations – be able to run events and bar/restaurant dining simultaneously
*Sourcing suppliers, overseeing food ordering and stock control
*Design and creation of menus – specials will change every month/quarter
*Responsible for recruiting, training and developing kitchen team members
*Maintenance of food hygiene standards & regulations within the kitchen - Overall accountability for hygiene and health and safety within the kitchen. Direct the food safety system – ensuring all team members are fully trained and aware of how food is stored, rotated and disposed of and monitoring their adherence
*Complete daily and weekly stock checks and be responsible for ad hoc external food audits
*To ensure that food and labour costs are effectively managed in order to achieve a strong food margin and labour within budget

We are looking for someone who is passionate about cooking and can produce dishes to a high quality, while also showcasing their creative flare. The successful candidate has to be ambitious, able to demonstrate how they can manage a demanding kitchen environment and understand the demands of a changing market. They will also need to demonstrate excellent customer awareness and great work ethic
Successful candidate will have a minimum of 3-4 previous experience in a busy restaurant, either as a head chef or as an experienced sous chef who is ready to make the next move in their career
Salary is negotiable depending on experience.

Must hold a Hygiene Certificate and also either NVQ Level 1&2 or City & Guilds 706/1&2
